Property Tax Stabilization Program for Senior Citizens

 

Requirements to file an application:

  1. A permanent resident of Maine.
  2. One owner must be 65 or older as of April 1 of the upcoming year.
  3. Have owned a homestead in Maine for at least ten years as of April 1 of the upcoming year. If your homestead has changed during the ten-year period, you will need to enter the full address (street number, street name, municipality) of any prior homestead(s) and years it was your homestead.

The ten-year period is not required to be consecutive.

You must declare: That the property listed is currently your permanent residence and that you are not currently claiming or receiving a homestead property tax exemption for any other property.

To qualify complete this application by December 1st and return to the Assessor at the Town Office. This goes into effect for Taxes Committed April 1, 2023

This program officially begins August 8th, 2022, Forms are available now on the Town of Eustis website https://eustismaine.org/departments/assessor/ or at the Town Office after August 8th. We will NOT accept applications until August 8th.

You must refile your application every year.
